CHARLIE (Courtesy Posting)

Charlie (aka Spots) was picked up as a stray dog by the Prince William County Animal Control, so all we really know about him is that he is an adult male, around 2 years old, white Dalmatian mixed breed.

When he was rescued he was very emaciated and weighed only 45 pounds. He also suffered a hard case of kennel cough for which he had to receive extra medical care. Since then, he has put on weight, has recovered his appetite, and is just a beautiful, healthy, and friendly boy. He is very smart and trainable and is completely housebroken. He already knows how to sit and give his paw, and is currently working on walking nicely on a leash.

Charlie's foster mom states that if she did not already have 2 dogs, a cat, and a brand new baby, then she would DEFINITELY be keeping Charlie as they have grown quite fond of the big guy. Charlie is a sweet boy who enjoys sleeping in his fosters' room, cuddle with them on the couch, ride in the family car, and loves to run, play with his toys, and of course be around people.

Charlie gets along with some dogs but does not like cats. Although he likes to greet the kids when taken out of his home on a leash, he can be protective of the family he loves and bonded with and will need training to help him relax when strangers come into the house. Considering his size and temperament, it would be preferable to adopt him out to a home without kids under 10 years old.
