HAMMY (Courtesy Posting)

We have a 9-year old, liver-spotted Dalmatian that we need to find a home for. Hammy is currently in an apartment in Hoboken, NJ. We have a 15-month-old baby, and Hammy keeps growling and barking at her. We've had two trainers come in and work with us and the dog, but just when things start looking like they will work out, Hammy will show her true colors. We're very concerned about the safety of the baby. Right now, Hammy is forced to stay in a small corner of our apartment and she is fenced in. She no longer gets the love or attention she was used to, and it's heart-breaking. But there's just no way we can let her mix in with us because of the potential that she will bite the baby.

Hammy is spayed, weighs about 45 pounds, and is up to date on all vaccines. She is extremely well cared for in that respect, and we have no problem continuing to pay vet bills for a new owner. We will provide all vet records. We love this dog. She prances and plays around like she's still a puppy, but she is a well-behaved dog. She can sit, stay, and go over there on command. She knows "wait" and won't touch her food until I tell her it's OK to eat.

If you have a home without small children and can take in this wonderful dog and love her for the rest of her life, please contact us. Call Barbara Martinez at 201-792-6282 or email me at Barbara.Martinez@dowjones.com.
