Jade is a deaf female, spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative and on preventative. She was pulled from a high kill shelter in Southwest Virginia.

This dog is extremely sweet with strangers and small children. She was introduced to 2- and 4-year-old children and responded gently. She has a soft mouth and took cookies from the children's hands in a gentle manner. She has recovered from a skin allergy that was probably from being bitten by fleas.

Jade is not a barker and has not been destructive. She is a beautiful Dal and the only thing observed was that she wants to chase cats. Jade is housetrained and cratetrained, but she is being allowed the run of the house at her foster home without any problem. She is intelligent and is learning American Sign Language. Since being moved from the kennel to a foster home with other dogs and lots of TLC, Jade is beginning to gain weight and confidence.

Because of her deafness, Jade will require a safely fenced yard to keep her away from danger and allow her to run and play. The shelter felt she was 3-4 years old, but we are guessing she is more like 5 or 6. She runs and plays energetically with her housemates, but will calm down quickly and cuddle. Jade will soak up love like a sponge. Could you be the one to give it to her?
