|This wonderful dog was abandoned when his previous owner moved out of state. He was brought to the vet's office by someone who found him wandering as a stray. The Liberty Animal Clinic staff immediately recognized Murphy by his bright blue eyes and his friendly manner, took him into their care, and fully vetted him. They located the former owner who stated she did not want this great dog, so Murphy lived at the vet's office for several months.|
Murphy qualifies as a "special needs" dog. In May 2002 he was taken to
the vet with a severe urinary obstruction. He was given a cystotomy and
urethrostomy, from which he has completely recovered. He is currently
on a special prescription diet (UD) and Allopurinol which have prevented
any further crystal formation.
Murphy is a 5 year old neutered male Dalmatian. He is housetrained, leash trained and does well around cats. He weighs in at 63 pounds and would be best with children over 8 years old. The little ones seem to scare him! Murphy has been completely vetted. He is described as very friendly, and he was obviously loved by the staff at the Liberty Animal Clinic where he was living.
|Murphy has been brought into the Metro DC Dals and will be living with his foster mom (and her adopted Dal) in Pennsylvania while we search for Murphy's own loving forever home. Whoever adopts this dog for their very own will be getting a jewel.|
