Pearl is a very pretty girl. She apparently suffered abuse at the hands of her former owner. After being picked up as a stray and held for the required period, she was finally offered to rescue. At that point, her life began to turn around.

We took Pearl straight to the vet, got her caught up on all vaccines and tested for heartworm, Lyme disease, and erlichia. Fortunately, she was negative for all of that and we could begin to concentrate on rebuilding her self-confidence. Pearl is still shy and a little scared at first, but she quickly warms up to people that approach her calmly. She seems to particularly like men and young teenage boys.

Pearl attended an open house at the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department and appears to be coming out of her shell. She is looking for a quiet home and gentle hands to continue her rehabilitation and socialization.
